Frogs
"The White's Tree Frog from Australia can live for more than 21 years."
We learned this while reading: Watch Me Grow: Frog.

"The Demise of Recess"
Every month I pick up the free Boston Parents' Paper for its extensive calendar of events. I don't usually read the articles but this one just popped right out at me. It addresses the national trend of public schools scaling down or eliminating recess. Many administrators are under pressure to add more academic time due to the requirements of The No Child Left Behind Act.
I think it would break my heart if my children were forced to spend so much time indoors, sitting at desks.

Our new homeschooling blog.
I decided to create this blog to chronicle my family's adventure in homeschooling. We haven't started homeschooling yet as both boys are in preschool. We are moving to Texas in June and I do not intend to send my kids to school. Henry would be starting kindergarten in the fall.
I'm not exactly sure how we plan to undertake homeschooling. I don't think we are completely cut out for unschooling, but we are definitely not the strict schedule or curriculum types either. The phrase that keeps coming up that seems to fit is "Relaxed Homeschooling." I guess the beauty of it is that we can figure it out as we go along.
